Product Description

He has reigned as the "King of the Blues" since the early 50's, yet B.B. King continues to wear the crown with dignity and class. Time has had no apparent effect on him, other than to make him more popular, more cherished and more relevant than ever. Over his illustrious career, B.B. King has released over 50 albums and defined the blues for a worldwide audience. From small town cafes to juke joints to the largest rock arenas, B.B. King has become one of the most renowned national and international stars of this generation. Over the years, B.B. has developed one of the world's most easily identifiable playing styles on his signature Gibson guitar affectionately named "Lucille." His precise and complex vocal-like string bend and his left hand vibrato techniques have become indispensable components of many rock guitarists including legends such as Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, and Jimmy Page. B.B. has been able to effortlessly mix traditional blues, jazz, swing and mainstream pop, creating his own unique sound. As B.B. puts it, "When I sing, I play in my mind; and the minute I stop singing orally, I start singing by playing Lucille." All of these qualities and more are on display in this outstanding performance, recorded at the Trump Marina Hotel on the Boardwalk in Atlantic City. B.B. delivers the goods on classics such as "Ain't Nobody's Business What I Do," "Why I Sing the Blues" and the immortal "The Thrill is Gone." This performance once again confirms that B.B. King is an American institution who deserves his rightful place among other American music icons such as Johnny Cash, Ray Charles, Billie Holiday, Elvis Presley and Frank Sinatra.

Please note: This concert was NOT recorded at the Blues Clubs in 2006. Footage on this DVD is from the 90's.
